Early Childhood Classrooms

CSS offers full-time, part-time, and drop-in care to children between 12 weeks to 5 years old.

Our Exploring Elephants Nursery, designed for infants ages 12 weeks to 18 months, provides a calm, loving, and secure environment where children can explore and grow at their own pace. Gentle, individualized routines support each child’s needs for feeding, sleeping, and play, helping them build trust and a strong sense of security.

Learning is rooted in sensory-rich, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and discovery. Through nature-inspired materials, music, movement, and tummy-time play, infants develop early motor skills, cognitive awareness, and emerging communication.

A strong emphasis is placed on nurturing relationships and social-emotional development, including bonding with caregivers, early social interactions, and recognizing and expressing needs. Teachers also support early self-help skills, such as holding bottles, finger feeding, and participating in simple routines.

Our Lucky Llamas classroom, designed for young twos and three-year-olds, offers a nurturing and engaging environment where children begin to follow a more consistent daily routine while still learning through play and exploration. Lessons are guided by the interests of the children, allowing learning to feel meaningful and exciting.

Drawing inspiration from nature-based experiences and hands-on play, children explore early creativity, movement, and problem-solving. A strong focus is placed on social-emotional development, including sharing, expressing feelings, and building friendships, as well as self-help skills such as independence during meals, toileting routines, and cleanup.

Our Happy Hedgehogs classroom is designed for older threes through five-years-old. This classroom supports children as they develop the foundational skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten, all within a play-based learning environment.

Through hands-on activities inspired by children’s interests, nature, and purposeful play, children build early literacy, math, and problem-solving skills. Teachers place a strong emphasis on social-emotional development, self-regulation, cooperation, and growing independence, helping children gain confidence both academically and socially.
